{"id":2433,"date":"2021-07-07T00:08:13","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T15:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahnsahnghong.com\/why-is-jehovah-jesus\/"},"modified":"2022-12-26T11:59:31","modified_gmt":"2022-12-26T02:59:31","slug":"why-is-jehovah-jesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ahnsahnghong.com\/en\/christ\/why-is-jehovah-jesus\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Is It That Jehovah Is Jesus?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are many interpretations and opinions on the question, \u201cIs God Jehovah Jesus?\u201d It is because <a href=\"\/en\/christ\/jehovah-salvation-history\/\">God Jehovah<\/a> who created the heavens and the earth and divided the Red Sea, and Jesus who was born as the son of a carpenter and lived in the flesh like one of us, look very different. People do not easily believe that Jesus is God Jehovah. However, if we compare the Bible records about God Jehovah and Jesus, we can confirm that the Son Jesus in the New Testament times is God the Father Jehovah in the Old Testament times.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-savior-jehovah-jesus\">The Savior Jehovah &#038; Jesus<\/h2>\n<p>The Savior who appears in the Old Testament is God Jehovah. In the Old Testament, it is written that there is no Savior but Jehovah.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cI, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.\u201d\n<small>Isa 43:11<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, in the New Testament, it is written that there is no Savior except Jesus.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\nHe [Jesus] is \u201c \u2018the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.\u2019 Salvation is found in no one else.\u201d\n<small>Ac 4:11<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If God Jehovah and Jesus were different, one of the two records would be wrong and there would be a contradiction in the Bible. However, the records of the Bible are correct. It is because Jesus is Jehovah who came to this earth in the flesh. Since Jehovah and Jesus are the same, the words that there is no Savior but Jehovah and that there is no Savior except Jesus are the same.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"god-the-father-would-be-born-as-a-child\">God the Father Would Be Born as a Child<\/h2>\n<p>The Old Testament prophesied that God the Father would be born as a child and sit on David\u2019s throne.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\nFor to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace . . . He will reign on David\u2019s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever . . .\n<small>Isa 9:6\u20137<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This means that the Father Jehovah will be born as a child and sit on <a href=\"\/en\/christ\/how-is-david-related-to-jesus\/\">David\u2019s throne<\/a>. However, the New Testament testifies that Jesus fulfilled this prophecy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201c[Y]ou will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus . . . The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.\u201d\n<small>Lk 1:30\u201333<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The angel said that Jesus would be born as a child through Mary and sit on David\u2019s throne. Therefore, God the Father Jehovah is Jesus; He was born as a child, a son, and sat on David\u2019s throne according to the prophecy of Isaiah 9 that was recorded 700 years before His birth.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"jehovah-the-lord-of-the-sabbath-is-jesus\">Jehovah, the Lord of the Sabbath, Is Jesus<\/h2>\n<p>After the <a href=\"\/en\/christ\/creation-of-god\/\">Creation in six days<\/a>, God Jehovah rested on the seventh day and appointed that day as the <a href=\"\/en\/teaching\/what-is-sabbath-in-bible\/\">Sabbath Day<\/a>, and commanded to keep it holy (Ge 2:2\u20133; Ex 20:8\u201311). The Lord of the Sabbath, who blesses those who keep the Sabbath, is God Jehovah. That is why the Sabbath is described as the \u201cLORD [Jehovah]\u2019s Sabbath\u201d in the Old Testament.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cSay to the Israelites, \u2018You must observe my [Jehovah] Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.\u2019 \u201d\n<small>Ex 31:13<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, in the New Testament, it is written that Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cFor the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.\u201d\n<small>Mt 12:8<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Therefore, Jehovah and Jesus are the same; Christ Jesus is God the Creator. Nevertheless, if they insist that Jehovah and Jesus are different, it is to deny one of the words, \u201cJehovah\u2019s Sabbath\u201d and \u201cJesus is the Lord of the Sabbath.\u201d In other words, it is to deny the Creator who came to this earth in the flesh to save us.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"jehovah-the-alpha-and-the-omega-is-jesus\">Jehovah, the Alpha and the Omega, Is Jesus<\/h2>\n<p>In Revelation 1, God Jehovah refers to Himself as the Alpha and the Omega.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega,\u201d says the Lord God, \u201cwho is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.\u201d\n<small>Rev 1:8<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the New Testament, the word \u201cLord God\u201d refers to God Jehovah. In Revelation 4, we can see that the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come, is God Jehovah\u2014the Creator who sits on the throne of heaven and receives glory from the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders for ever and ever (Rev 4:8\u201311). The fact, \u201cThe \u2018Lord God\u2019 in Revelation 1:8 is God Jehovah,\u201d cannot be denied even by Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses who claim that the Father and the Son are different. The \u201cLord God\u201d is specified as Jehovah even in their New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Revelation 1:8 mean that God Jehovah is the Alpha and the Omega. Here, Alpha is the first letter of the 24 letters of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last letter, which means that God Jehovah is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. This has been emphasized since the Old Testament times (Isa 44:6). However, in Revelation 22, there is another One who says, \u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.\u201d\n<small>Rev 22:13<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the words we have looked at so far, \u201cI\u201d here must be God Jehovah, but in the following verses, it is written that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"line bible serif\"><p>\n\u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End . . . I, Jesus . . . I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.\u201d\n<small>Rev 22:13\u201316<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the book of Revelation which was written by the same hand, chapter 1 says that God Jehovah is the Alpha and the Omega, and chapter 22 says that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. Doesn\u2019t it mean that God Jehovah and Jesus are the same? If Jesus is not God the Father but only the Son, He can never be called the Alpha. It\u2019s because if the father is the alpha, the first, the son born by the father must be later than that. The Bible clearly says that Jesus is the Alpha, the First. This is manifest evidence to prove that Jesus is God Jehovah.<\/p>\n<p>Although Jesus appeared as the son of a humble carpenter and lived the same life as man\u2019s, He is God the Father who is the Alpha and the Omega. The reason Jesus called Himself \u201cSon\u201d is that He did not reveal the glory of God but became flesh like His children, mankind. However, those who correctly understand Him through the Bible will admit that Jesus is God in nature (Php 2:5; Ro 9:5).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/en\/christ\/jesus-proclaimed-new-covenant\/\">Jesus, the Savior, came to the earth and established the New Covenant<\/a>, the law of the forgiveness of sin. He was born as a child and sat on David\u2019s throne. He is the Lord of the Sabbath, the Alpha and the Omega.
