Jesus Comes a Second Time in a Cloud
In what form will Jesus come when He comes a second time? “ ‘At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory’ ” (Lk 21:27). The Bible prophesies that Jesus will come in a cloud. Does this cloud indicate a cloud in the sky? No.
Clouds accumulate in the atmosphere. If Jesus comes a second time in a cloud in the sky, where would He be and how would He appear in the cloud? Does it mean that He will descend from Heaven into the atmosphere and then come in a cloud from the atmosphere to this earth?
The cloud that Jesus comes in is not a cloud in the sky, but a parable. What is this parable about?
Let's know more about this by understanding the first coming of Jesus. In the Old Testament, it was prophesied in advance how Jesus would come at His first coming. “ ‘[O]ne like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven . . . was given authority, glory and sovereign power [a kingdom, KJV] . . . ‘ ” (Da 7:13–14). Who is the one like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven? He is the one who is given authority, glory, and a kingdom.
“ ’All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me [Jesus].’ ” (Mt 28:18) “ ‘And glory has come to me [Jesus] through them.’ ” (Jn 17:10) “ ‘And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, . . .’ ” (Lk 22:29) One who is given authority, glory and a kingdom The Son of Man who came with the clouds of heaven was Jesus at His first coming. Did Jesus come in a real cloud? He came to the earth in the flesh just like us.
In actuality, the cloud is a parable, referring to the flesh. Additional examples about those who are in the flesh being parabolized as clouds can be found within many verses of the Bible. (Jude 1:12; Pr 25:14; Heb 12:1)
Therefore, when the Bible says that Jesus will come a second time in a cloud, it means that Jesus will come again in the flesh with the appearance of a human being, just as He did the first time.
Then, why does Jesus come again with the appearance of a human? It is to bring salvation to us. Heb 9:28 Christ . . . will appear a second time . . . to bring salvation . . .
We hope that you receive salvation by meeting Jesus, who comes a second time in the flesh according to the prophecy that Christ will come in a cloud.
