Shouldn’t the Second Coming Jesus perform miraculous signs and wonders?
Many people think that miraculous signs and wonders are the standard of how they recognize Christ. That is why they say that the Second Coming Christ, too, should perform miraculous signs and wonders.
However, miraculous signs and wonders are not evidence that identifies Christ.
False Christs deceive people with miraculous signs and wonders in the last days. Mt 24:24 “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.” If we follow signs and wonders in this age where many false Christs arise, we will never receive salvation.
If signs and wonders were evidence that identifies Christ, those who saw Jesus signs and miracles should have believed in Jesus as Christ. How did things actually turn out?
Jesus per formed the miracle of feeding five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish.
Although people were amazed at first, seeing the miracle, they left Him when He spoke the words of eternal life. Those who only followed miraculous signs and wonders were unable to recognize Christ and receive eternal life.
Therefore, we must not try to recognize Christ through signs and wonders. Then, through what can we recognize Christ?
2 Th 2:9–13 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. . . . God chose you to be saved . . . through belief in the truth. Salvation is granted by believing in the truth, not signs and wonders. Christ does not come to per form signs and wonders, but to teach the truth of salvation.
Two thousand years ago, Jesus granted salvation through the New Covenant Passover. (Jn 6:54; Lk 22:20)
In this age, too, Jesus comes a second time to give salvation through the New Covenant Passover, and He is Christ Ahnsahnghong.
