About the Remaining 37 Years

Some biblical characters play the prophetic roles to testify about the Savior. David is one of them. Christ Jesus, who came to this earth to save all humanity, and David are related through prophecy fulfillment.

When we understand the prophetic elements between Jesus and David, we can know who Second Coming Christ is. Through the secrets hidden in David’s life, let us learn about Second Coming Christ, the spiritual King David whom we must seek in this age.

Seek David in the Last Days

The prophet Hosea prophesied that God’s people must seek David in the last days to receive God’s blessings, that is, salvation.

Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days. Hos 3:5

It is no exaggeration to say that salvation in the last days depends on whether or not we meet David. Then, who is David that we must seek in the last days to be saved? He is not David who was the second king of Israel, but the prophetic David who is to appear in the future.

Jesus came as the prophetic David

The prophet Isaiah said that God, who was born as a “child” and as a “son,” would reign on “David’s throne.”

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given . . . And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom . . . Isa 9:6–7

The Bible prophesies that David refers to God who comes in the flesh, that is, Christ. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy about 2,000 years ago. The angel appeared to Mary and testified that Jesus would come to the earth according to the prophecy of King David.

“You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus . . . The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,” Lk 1:31–32

The reason Jesus was represented as King David in the Bible is to let us know the work of Jesus through that of David. David and Jesus are related via prophecy fulfillment. Let us focus on the “throne of David” Jesus would sit on.

David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years. 2 Sa 5:4

In the Old Testament times, David was anointed at the age of thirty and he reigned forty years. Jesus, the prophetic David, was baptized at the age of thirty and began His ministry.

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too . . . Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. Lk 3:21–23

Jesus could begin His gospel work at the age of twenty or forty, but He began at the age of thirty to fulfill the prophecy of King David.

Remaining 37 Years of David’s Throne and Necessity of Jesus’ Second Coming

In order to completely fulfill the prophecy of King David, Jesus should have preached the gospel for forty years, which is David’s reigning period. However, Jesus preached for only three years (Lk 13:6–7). Then, what are the remaining thirty-seven years for? All prophecies in the Bible are surely fulfilled (Mt 5:18; 24:35). In order to fulfill the remaining prophecy about the reign of David, Jesus’ second coming is inevitable. That’s why the Bible prophesied that Jesus, the spiritual King David, would come to this earth again.

[S]o Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Heb 9:28

Christ must come a second time according to this prophecy, and preach the gospel for the remaining thirty-seven years of David’s reign, which Jesus did not fulfill at His first coming. The Bible says that the purpose of His second coming is to “bring salvation.” This means that no one can be saved unless Jesus, the prophetic David, comes a second time. That is why the prophet Hosea prophesied that those who seek David in the last days will come trembling to God’s blessings.

About 2,000 years ago, Jesus came in the flesh as King David. In order to fulfill the rest of the prophecy about David’s throne, He would come a second time in the flesh, too. That’s why the prophet Isaiah prophesied that God would reign on David’s throne, born as a child (in the flesh).

The Passover of the New Covenant Is the Sign of Prophetic David

In order to be saved in the last days, we must receive the prophetic David, that is, Christ who comes again in the flesh. How can we recognize Christ who comes in the flesh, among numerous people in the world? To make matters worse, it is prophesied that many false Christs will appear in the last days (Mt 24:24). Thankfully, the Bible testifies that Second Coming Jesus has a certain sign as King David.

Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. Isa 55:3

God would establish an “everlasting covenant” for the salvation of all human beings, and He called it “My faithful love promised to David.” Therefore, the sign of the prophetic David, Second Coming Jesus, is the “everlasting covenant.”

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, . . . Heb 13:20

Since it is called the “blood” of the eternal covenant, the covenant must have Jesus’ blood giving life. In other words, the covenant Jesus established with His blood is the eternal covenant. In the Bible, the only covenant established with Jesus’ blood is the New Covenant.

And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” . . . he took the cup, saying, “This cup (the Passover wine) is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” Lk 22:15–20

Jesus called the Passover wine the “new covenant in my blood.” The New Covenant Passover is the core of the eternal covenant established with the blood of Jesus. God’s people can receive eternal life by eating and drinking the Passover bread and wine, which represent Jesus’ flesh and blood (Jn 6:54). The New Covenant Passover is the truth of salvation, and a sure sign of Christ who comes a second time as King David.

Christ Ahnsahnghong Is David We Must Seek in the Last Days

The New Covenant Passover was established by Jesus, but abolished at the Council of Nicaea in AD 325. Since then, no one has kept it for about 1,600 years. In this age, however, there is one who has restored the Passover and taught it. He is Christ Ahnsahnghong. Christ Ahnsahnghong taught that we must keep the Passover of the New Covenant to receive eternal life. He brought the “everlasting covenant” that only David could bring.

Christ Ahnsahnghong exactly fulfilled the remaining prophecy of King David. Christ Ahnsahnghong was born in 1918. In 1948 when he turned thirty, He was baptized according to the prophecy of the fig tree. As the prophetic King David, He began His ministry at the age of thirty. After preaching the New Covenant Passover, which is a sign of David, for thirty-seven years, He ascended to Heaven in 1985.

Four years before His ascension to Heaven, He foretold through a newspaper that He would finish thirty-seven years of ministry and die according to the prophecy.

Unknown New Religion: The Church of God

“The Church of God believes that the Second Coming Christ is to appear in this age and that he is to appear in the flesh with eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The Church of God explains, ‘Jesus has to come a second time in the flesh because the new covenant he established at his first coming was abolished during the Dark Ages. So the Lord himself has to come again to restore the truth of life, the new covenant, and seek his people.’ The Second Coming Jesus has to come to the earth in secret and pass away after preaching the gospel for 37 years. The reason he has to preach for 37 years is because David reigned on the throne for 40 years, but Jesus was crucified after preaching for only three years, so the Second Coming Jesus has to preach for 37 years so that he can complete the 40-year reign,” says the Church of God. The Church of God also believes that people can be saved by keeping the Passover. It regards the new covenant, stated by Jesus, as very important.” Weekly Religion dated March 18, 1981

Christ Ahnsahnghong 1981년 Weekly Religion dated March 18, 1981 - The Second Coming Jesus has to come to the earth in secret and pass away after preaching the gospel for 37 years.

Ordinary people do not know when they will be born and when they will die. Christ Ahnsahnghong, however, came according to the prophecy of the Bible. His death, too, was fulfilled as He had foretold four years before He ascended to Heaven by accomplishing the remaining thirty-seven years of David’s throne.

Numerous theologians and religious leaders have appeared over years, but no one has taught us to keep the Passover of the New Covenant. It is because they are not the prophetic David. As it is written that the everlasting covenant is God’s faithful love promised to David, no one can bring it except God who comes in the flesh. Christ Ahnsahnghong restored the Passover of the New Covenant as King David, whom all people should seek and revere for salvation in the last days. He is Jesus who came a second time according to all the prophecies of the Bible.
