Elohim means Gods in Hebrew. It is a plural form of Eloah, meaning God.

Elohim, God the Creator

God is recorded as Elohim about 2,500 times in the original Hebrew Bible.

In the beginning God [Elohim] created the heavens and the earth. . . . Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, . . .” Ge 1: 1, 26

God Elohim who created the heavens and the earth said, “Let us make men,” not “I will make men.” This means that God the Creator does not exist only as God the Father.

Elohim Is God the Father and God the Mother

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Ge 1:27

Through the fact that male and female were created in the image of God, we can see that there are a male image of God and a female image of God. The Bible testifies that the male image of God is Heavenly Father (Mt 6:9) and the female image of God is Heavenly Mother (Gal 4:26). Therefore, God Elohim indicates God the Father and God the Mother.
