God Elohim:
God the Father and God the Mother

11246 읽음

Most Christians know God only as Jehovah or Jesus, that is, God the Father who is the male image of God. However, from Genesis 1, the beginning of the Bible, the word Elohim, which refers to God as a plural, appears. It means that there is not one God the Father, but two or more Gods.

It is very essential to know God correctly; because the knowledge of God is the greatest wisdom and understanding, which salvation depends on (Pr 9:10; Jn 17:3). That is why the Bible says that all believers should “press on” to know God (Hos 6:3). Let’s find out who God Elohim in the Bible in order for us to be saved.

Elohim Is God the Father and God the Mother

The Old Testament, which was written by the prophets who were moved by the Holy Spirit, described God in the plural form, not the singular form. In the original Hebrew Bible, God was mostly recorded as Elohim [Gods], which is a plural form of El or Eloah [God]. The word Elohim appears about 2,500 times throughout the Old Testament. From the viewpoint of the common sense that God is the only Father, it would be a big error.

The Bible is a book that testifies about God the Savior (Jn 5:39). When God is expressed in the plural form in the Bible, it means that God is not one but two or more.

God [Elohim] said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness . . . ” Ge 1:26

In the book of Genesis, God who created the heavens and the earth in the beginning was described as Elohim, and Elohim said, “Let us make men.” If we think that God is only the Father, it is difficult to understand this verse; because God should have said, “I will make man in my image, in my likeness.” So, “This passage has long been a puzzle for interpreters of the Bible” (Mysteries of the Bible, Reader’s Digest Association Inc., p. 21).

If we let go of our fixed idea that there is only God the Father and look at the records of the Bible as they are, we can easily find the answer to this puzzle.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Ge 1:27

God, who referred to Himself “us,” created man in His image and likeness. Then, male and female were created. This means that God exists as both male and female images. Mankind has called the male image of God the Father. Then, what should we call the female image of God? We should call Her the Mother. God Elohim, who created all things, is two: God the Father and God the Mother.

God Elohim Worked Together Since the Creation

In many verses, we can see God working together, saying, “Let us.” Elohim God the Father and God the Mother have been carrying out the work of redemption together from the Creation.

The LORD said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth. Ge 11:6–9

When the descendants of Noah were building the Tower of Babel, God said, “Let us go down and confuse their language.” In verse 9, it is said that the LORD God confused the language. This means that although the name of God the Father was written as a representative, God the Father and God the Mother stopped the work of building the Tower of Babel together.

God the Father and God the Mother also appointed a prophet and sent him together.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isa 6:8

Here, the “voice of the Lord” is the voice of God. However, God did not say, “Who will go for me?” but “Who will go for us?” God Elohim always worked together when He created all things, stopped the work of building the Tower of Babel, sent a prophet, and so on.

God the Father Is the Representative of Elohim

When we look at Adam and Eve, who were created in the image and likeness of God, we can correctly understand God Elohim. It is because Adam and Eve are the copy of God who is the original. Adam and Eve are two separate people, but the Bible sometimes describes them as one.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man . . . Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam . . . For if the many died by the trespass of the one man . . . Ro 5:12–15

Here, the “trespass of the one man” indicates Adam’s sin. According to the book of Genesis, it was not Adam who sinned first, but Eve (Ge 3:6). So it should have been written like “the trespass of the one woman Eve or the trespass of the two people. However, the Bible only mentioned the name of Adam as the representative. This means that Adam and Eve are regarded as one person (Ge 2:22–24).

It is the same with God Elohim who is the original of Adam and Eve. Although God exists as two—God the Father and God the Mother, we can say that God is one. The Bible says as if Adam did alone even though Adam and Eve, two people, did something together. In this way, it says that God the Father did alone about the things that God the Father and Mother did together.

Why They Do Not Know God Elohim

Many people claim to believe in God, but it is hard to find those who believe in God Elohim–God the Father and God the Mother. It is because they are not in the truth of the New Covenant. The Bible prophesies that only those who keep the New Covenant will fully know God.

“The time is coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah . . . This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time . . . I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God [Elohim], and they will be my people.” Jer 31:31–33

God said that He would be God of those who engraved the law of the New Covenant in their hearts and obey them, and that those would become His people and fully know God Elohim.

“No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jer 31:34

Those who engrave the law of the New Covenant in their hearts and keep it will never be told to “know God” because they all know God from the least of them to the greatest. This means that God’s people who are in the truth of the New Covenant will fully know and believe in God Elohim. God said He would give them the forgiveness of their sins.

The existence of God the Mother is not revealed in the verses that testify about the name of the Savior in the Age of the Father or the Savior in the Age of the Son. God the Mother has been hidden for a long time. However, Her existence as Elohim was revealed when the God’s appointed time came. Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong has shone the light of the truth of the New Covenant, and clearly testified about God the Father and God the Mother whom God’s people in this age must know.
