In the book of Revelation, God let the seven thunders speak, but He told Apostle John to seal it up, not to write it down.
And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.” Rev 10:4
Then, will the seven thunders remain sealed forever or will they be unsealed someday? Many theologians and pastors consistently insist, “Because this secret is sealed, we cannot know it, nor do we need to know it.” If the seven thunders were something that the saints could not know or did not need to know at all, they would not have been recorded in the Bible. However, God deliberately made them speak and sealed them. This implies that there must be something special that God wants to make known to His people through the seven thunders.
There Is a Time When the Sealed Seven Thunders Will Be Unsealed
The words, “Seal up,” imply that there is a time when it will be unsealed. When a letter is sent, it is sealed so that no one else can see its inside. The sealed letter is opened when it reaches the recipient who is allowed to read the content. In other words, the letter is sealed only until it reaches the intended person. Because it is once sealed, it does not mean it is sealed forever. The same goes for the seven thunders.
“But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” Rev 10:7
Here, the “mystery of God” refers to the sealed seven thunders in verse 4 of the same chapter. It is written that the mystery will be accomplished. God does nothing without revealing His plan to His people (Am 3:7). In order for the mystery of God to be accomplished, it must be opened first. The secret of the sealed seven thunders, too, does not remain sealed forever, but it is opened and accomplished.
What Are the Seven Thunders?
Ten Commandments, the Perfect Thunders
The Bible says that the voice of God is thunder. It is because those who did not understand God’s voice properly just heard the sound of thunder.
“Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine.” Jn 12:28–30
When God said, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again,” Apostle John correctly heard it and wrote it while others just heard the sound of thunder. John was given an ear to hear the voice of God directly. So he could hear what the seven thunders said and was about to write, but as he was told to seal it up, he just wrote that the seven thunders spoke.
The number seven means perfection. It is because God created all things and rested on the seventh day, making it blessed and holy. If we replace seven with perfection, we can say, “The seven thunders are the perfect thunders.” Then, what are the perfect thunders? The thunders spoken in the presence of the whole assembly of God’s people, not just in front of one or two people, are the perfect thunders.
Throughout the history of the Bible, there was only one time when the voice of God resounded in front of all His people. It was in the days of Moses when God declared the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, out of fire. God descended on the mountain and proclaimed the Ten Commandments with the sound of thunder.
Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. Ex 19:17–18
And God spoke all these words: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. . . . You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance . . .” Ex 20:1–3, 17–18
God Himself spoke the Ten Commandments before all the Israelites. The people were very afraid, saying, “Do not have God speak to us, or we will die” (Ex 20:19). Moses was able to understand the thunder-like voice of God and write it in the Bible, but the people couldn’t; they only heard the sound of thunder. The thunders uttered on Mount Sinai refer to the Ten Commandments.
Ten Commandments and the Feasts of God
Ten Commandments are well known to people, and all Christians think that they should keep them. Then, why does the Bible say that the Ten Commandments, the seven thunders, were sealed? In the Bible, there was a law that has the same meaning as the Ten Commandments but that was sealed. It is the Seven Feasts in Three Times.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” . . . And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments. Ex 34:27–28
Before God wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the stone tablets, He said, “In accordance with these words I have made a covenant.” We can understand that “these words” and the “covenant,” that is, the Ten Commandments are the same. In the context of the same chapter, “these words,” which have the same meaning as the Ten Commandments, are “Celebrate the feasts of God.”
“Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. . . . Celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year.” . . . Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” Ex 34:18–27
God told us to keep the feasts organized in three times: the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Ingathering [the Feast of Tabernacles], and He said that He would make a covenant called the Ten Commandments in accordance with these words. Therefore, celebrating the feasts of God and obeying the Ten Commandments are fundamentally the same.
This is also confirmed through the fact that by keeping the feasts, we can fully keep the Ten Commandments. For example, the first commandment, “You shall have no other gods,” and the second commandment. “You shall not worship idols,” are accomplished by keeping the Passover. It is because other gods are all punished when we keep the Passover; we can worship only God, removing all idols (Ex 12:11–12).
However, those who do not know the teachings of the Bible say that they do not need to keep the feasts of God while respecting the Ten Commandments. Now it is clear that the sealed seven thunders in Revelation 10 refer to the feasts of God.
The Mystery of the Sealed Seven Thunders Is the Feasts of the New Covenant
The sealed seven thunders in the book of Revelation refer to the feasts of the New Covenant Jesus established.
Jesus fulfilled the feasts of the Old Testament proclaimed in the time of Moses, through the feasts of the New Covenant that God’s people should keep in the New Testament times (Mt 5:17; Heb 7:12). Jesus promised His people the blessings of the forgiveness of sins and eternal life through the New Covenant Passover (Mt 26:17–28). He poured out the Holy Spirit through the Pentecost (Ac 2:1–4) and promised them the water of life through the Feast of Tabernacles (Jn 7:2, 37–38). Through the feasts, God granted all the blessings necessary for the salvation of mankind.
However, the feasts of the New Covenant disappeared over time. After Jesus and the apostles left the world, the church became secularized and the doctrines of pagan religions flew into it. Eventually, the church was filled with false doctrines, not Jesus’ teachings. This was done according to the prophecy that God’s set times and laws (feasts) would be changed by Satan.
“He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws.” Da 7:25
Since the feasts of the New Covenant disappeared, no one has kept and remembered them up to this day. Because it has been sealed for a long time, the Bible prophesied that the seven thunders would be sealed (Rev 10:4).
Who Opens the Mystery of the Sealed Seven Thunders?
Then, who can open the sealed seven thunders?
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Rev 5:1–4
Apostle John wept and wept, seeing no one open the scroll. We can guess that the sealed mystery is an important matter directly related to the salvation of mankind. In the next verse, the One who will open the secret appears.
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. Rev 5:5–6
It is written that no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll sealed by God, except the Root of David. The Root of David indicates Jesus (Rev 22:16). Furthermore, the words, “a Lamb who had been slain,” show that he is Jesus who appears after suffering on the cross—the Second Coming Jesus. Therefore, the mystery of the seven thunders can be opened only by Second Coming Christ.
The Bible clearly records the feasts of the New Covenant, which Jesus established for the salvation of mankind 2,000 years ago. Nevertheless, for about 1,600 years since the feasts of the New Covenant were abolished, none of the numerous reformers and theologians and pastors could reveal the feasts of the New Covenant and the amazing blessings hidden in them. Why couldn’t anyone unseal the secret of the seven thunders? It is because they were not the Root of David.
It is only Father Ahnsahnghong who taught and kept the Seven Feasts in Three Times, including the Passover of the New Covenant, as Jesus had set an example and the apostles had kept. Therefore, Ahnsahnghong who has unsealed the mystery of the seven thunders and has fully revealed the deep meaning in them, is the Christ who came a second time as the Root of David.
