The Church of God Testified in the Bible

2794 읽음

The Church of God was first established 2,000 years ago in the time of Jesus. Jesus Christ, the Lord of the gospel, gave many teachings and established church for the forgiveness of sins and salvation of mankind (Mt 16:18). The apostles, who learned directly from Jesus, attended that church and preached the gospel to the whole world. The Bible says that the name of that church was the Church of God (1 Co 1:2; Gal 1:13).

The Church of God Kept the New Covenant

The apostles attended the Church of God and kept the truth of the New Covenant established by Jesus. Following the example of Christ, they observed the feasts of God such as the Sabbath, the Passover, the Day of Resurrection, the Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles (Ac 17:2; 18:4; 20:7; 1 Co 5:7–8; 16:8). They immediately baptized people who received the gospel (Ac 8; 10; 16), and women observed the regulation of the veil by wearing a veil on their heads during worship or prayer (1 Co 11:1–16). The Church of God made every effort to follow the example of Christ and rejected other teachings that did not come from Him (1 Co 11:1; Php 3:17; 4:9; Gal 1:6–9).

The New Covenant Abolished by Satan

After all the apostles died, the church was gradually corrupted and secularized by Satan’s hindrances. As a result, false doctrines derived from pagan customs, such as Sunday worship and Christmas, began to be observed (Da 7:25). The saints of the Church of God endured all kinds of persecution and kept the truth until the Dark Ages came. During the Dark Ages, the gospel of Christ completely disappeared, and no one in the world had true faith (Lk 18:8).

Restoration of the New Covenant and Reestablishment of the Church of God

The Bible prophesied that Christ would come again to restore the truth of the New Covenant and rebuild the Church of God (Ps 102:16; Mic 4:1–2; Isa 33:20). It also prophesied that the Spirit would appear with His Bride in the last days and give salvation to people through the words of the water of life (Rev 22:17). This means that the true Church of God will believe in the Spirit and the Bride, God the Father and God the Mother, and keep the truth of the New Covenant.

The Church of God established by the Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong has accomplished a complete religious reformation in this age, based on the Bible-centered faith. According to the prophecy, “The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation,” it has become a global church located in 175 different countries (Isa 60:22). The Church of God continues to shine the light of truth throughout the world, delivering the water of life that flows out from Jerusalem.
